We're heading down to DC next week for a day or so. Trying to find a hotel that has a balcony with a nice view of the White House or any other beautiful part of the city. Really just want to be able to go out on the balcony and look at the city lights at night. Trying to keep it under $400. 2 friends and i went on a trip we each paid $50 (a total of $150) when we got to the hotel the manager told us that we are going to get a $50 discount on our stay and that the bell boy would bring the money up to our room on the way up, the bell boy took $20 from the $50 for him self ($30 left) So in the end we each got $10 back Which means we each spent $40 for this trip ($50 - $10 refund) BUT WAIT... $40 times 3 of us is only $120 and $120 plus the $20 the bell boy took is only $140 WHERES MY $10??? more

Planning a weekend trip to Las Vegas in early February 2009. Got a great cheap deal for flights from Montana and 3 nights at an on-strip hotel for under $400 for two people. Neither of us are interested in gambling, we're coming to see the sights and a few shows. We'd like to see cirque du soleil and maybe one other show. Would also like to spend one day out at Hoover Dam/Grand Canyon. Trying to figure out if if it's better to book the trips ahead of time online, or wait until we get there and find discounted deals? Looking for a few dry, pleasant June/July destinations linked by a discount airline from Dubai I am spending the Spring in Iran, and in June I am changing flights in Dubai to somewhere dry, and pleasant serviced by one of the discount airlines operating in the UAE. My research shows Air Arabia flies to Almaty, Kazakhstan (near beautiful Kyrgyzstan) Lebanon Nepal All three of these destinations appeal to me but Nepal's rainy monsoon season begins in June, and I don't want to be there when it's raining. Lebanon, and Kazakhstan have the nicest weather during summer, but I think Canadians need a visa to go to Kazakhstan, like a real visa (pre-arranged at the Kazakh embassy either in Tehran, or Dubai). Also, it sounds difficult to arrange, and really expensive. Does anyone know the cost of 1 month tourist visa for Canadians going to Kazakhstan? I am only interested in Almaty, and then I want to cross the border to Kyrgyz, then Uzbek, and Tajik. I'd like to do a little circle, and end up back in Almaty again, only because Air Arabia flies from there. I could also be interested in a land crossing entering Tibet, but I don't know if that's possible for foreigners. Regarding a Kazakh visa, perhaps a 3 day transit visa is enough? See Almaty, and then hop the border to Bishkek? Air India Express flies Dubai to Amritsar, India, and I know India is HOT in June, but if I start in Amritsar, and head NORTH to Kashmir, maybe there is an international border/crossing (along with land transport) to Tibet? Of Course, then I need a Chinese visa/permit, and where to get that in Amritsar, or Kashmir? If I go to India, I prefer to go high in altitude because it is June, and I don't want to be at sea level, especially in a big city like Mumbai or Dehli. I just hope Northwestern India is relatively dry in June. Ok so Air Arabia, or Air India Express, and there are a couple other airlines flying to really HOT places like Phillipines, but since it's June, I didn't include any tropical destinations. So, please let me know which destination you think is best for June, and then from there, into the Summer. Lebanon, Almaty, Kazakhstan, or Nepal (rainy?) on AA or Northwestern India on AIA I also have the option of entering Turkmenistan, or Armenia by road after Iran (I think June could be a good time in either place), but Turkmenistan doesn't seem to have any Couchsurfers, which is how I travel. No hotels, ever. Let me know your thoughts about June. more

You will pass through many Berber villages, and in the desert, see barren red rock formations clustered with kasbahs (fortified dwellings that house many families and their livestock). Stay in Dades valley auberge (small country inn) with Moroccan dinner on the terrace, overlooking the valley gorge and gardens. December 31 Breakfast at the hotel. Departure for Todra Gorge: a massive fault dividing the High Atlas mountains, rising to 300 m in a narrow valley thick with palmeries and Berber villages. After lunch there, transport further into the desert to your auberge near the tiny village of Merzouga, where you will settle in for New Years celebration in the beautiful Erg Chebbi dunes. Includes dinner, and traditional folklore music and dancing. Stay in the desert auberge this night. January 1 Relax at the auberge after a late breakfast/lunch. Explore around the dunes by 4x4; sun on the roof terrace. Late afternoon at sunset take camel with guide into the dunes to bivouac (camp) and sleep in traditional Nomad camel hair tents. January 2 Return by camel at sunrise to the auberge for breakfast and shower before going to Tinehir. Along the way we pass through folded exposed rock slabs of fossils and we can stop and visit a fossil workshop for a closer look at Sahara’s wonderful varieties of ancient life. After lunch you can wander with a guide through palmeries, villages, gardens, and kasbahs for a close look at traditional Berber ways of life. Visit the market in Tinehir and old kasbah quarter. We will have a late afternoon arrival to stay in an old kasbah with evening Moroccan dinner. January 3 After breakfast the remainder of the day is spent driving back to Ouarzazate where we’ll stop for lunch and visit the old Glaoui Kasbah Taouirt. I'm looking to book a vacation for 3 to the Stanley Hotel in Estes Park, Colorado and trying to figure out how to save a little money doing it. I am looking to stay the weekend of September 26th and 27th, 2009. I cannot find the hotel when I use sites like priceline or orbitz. I found it slightly cheaper on hotels.com, but it wasn't a great deal. I am looking for something with Hotel + Flight + Car. more
