We're heading down to DC next week for a day or so. Trying to find a hotel that has a balcony with a nice view of the White House or any other beautiful part of the city. Really just want to be able to go out on the balcony and look at the city lights at night. Trying to keep it under $400. Its just myself and my boyfriend, so the rooms dont need to be especially large or glamorous. Just want a safe nice hotel that has a view after what is sure to be a long road trip down. We want to stay at one of the "value" Disney hotels so we can use the free bus service to the parks, as opposed to staying at a hotel off-site and having to rent a car. I'm getting married in a couple of months time and there is so much to organise. (i just got engaged and found out i was pregnant in the same week so there is a bit of a rush before i start properly showing so i don't look cheap.) Anyway, we kind of need help deciding where to hold the reception. We've decided to get married in St Gregory's church and we've come up with some possible venues so we would love to know your opinion: Applegate Rise Hotel ( has a bar and accommodation facilities) Brampton Hall (my husband's great aunt lives there so we could use some of the rooms for a discount) Thumpley Park (we could hire the hall) Our Village Hall (available for hire) St Gregory's Church Hall (smaller than the other possibilities but obviously within walking distance of the church) We can afford all of these. I mean the definition of couture is high end, spare-no-expense, elegant, top shelf limited edition articles of clothing, NOT tacky looking velour or terry cloth sweatsuits. Do they expect people to go to the opera in that stuff, or frequent 5-star hotels while they wear that stuff? What is so classy or elegant about a label who slaps their name across the /-\ss of their pairs of pants. It is just as mindless as if Wal-Mart changed their slogan to something like "Opulent Bargains" or "Premium Discounts" know what I am saying! The main thing I have noticed is that no one seemed to have ever heard of much less cared one whit about the brand until Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie started wearing their stuff. Of course since when has anything people like them have preferred ever been much of a good idea?I asked the question because it seems too many people are FOOLED by the inclusion of the word "couture" in their brand name. If I took a gas station microwave burrito, and presented it on a silver platter it would not make it "gourmet cuisine"You hit the nail on the head, B.M. ! Personally it really ticks me off when I really pretty girl dresses beneath the event at hand or wears tacky clothes through ignorance or with the arrogant assumption that her looks alone will balance out her incorrect outfit. moreResolved Question: where can i find deep discounted disney tickets?

We're flying from Chicago (with connecting flights) to Dallas right after Christmas (26th). Weather's been bad lately and flight cancellations/delays aren't impossible to happen. If this is my case, and the only NEXT AVAILABLE flight they give us is nothing but to stay overnight, Will they pay for our hotel stay?? If its a discount voucher - how much discount would that be? Looking for a few dry, pleasant June/July destinations linked by a discount airline from Dubai I am spending the Spring in Iran, and in June I am changing flights in Dubai to somewhere dry, and pleasant serviced by one of the discount airlines operating in the UAE. My research shows Air Arabia flies to Almaty, Kazakhstan (near beautiful Kyrgyzstan) Lebanon Nepal All three of these destinations appeal to me but Nepal's rainy monsoon season begins in June, and I don't want to be there when it's raining. Lebanon, and Kazakhstan have the nicest weather during summer, but I think Canadians need a visa to go to Kazakhstan, like a real visa (pre-arranged at the Kazakh embassy either in Tehran, or Dubai). Also, it sounds difficult to arrange, and really expensive. Does anyone know the cost of 1 month tourist visa for Canadians going to Kazakhstan? I am only interested in Almaty, and then I want to cross the border to Kyrgyz, then Uzbek, and Tajik. I'd like to do a little circle, and end up back in Almaty again, only because Air Arabia flies from there. I could also be interested in a land crossing entering Tibet, but I don't know if that's possible for foreigners. Regarding a Kazakh visa, perhaps a 3 day transit visa is enough? See Almaty, and then hop the border to Bishkek? Air India Express flies Dubai to Amritsar, India, and I know India is HOT in June, but if I start in Amritsar, and head NORTH to Kashmir, maybe there is an international border/crossing (along with land transport) to Tibet? Of Course, then I need a Chinese visa/permit, and where to get that in Amritsar, or Kashmir? If I go to India, I prefer to go high in altitude because it is June, and I don't want to be at sea level, especially in a big city like Mumbai or Dehli. I just hope Northwestern India is relatively dry in June. Ok so Air Arabia, or Air India Express, and there are a couple other airlines flying to really HOT places like Phillipines, but since it's June, I didn't include any tropical destinations. So, please let me know which destination you think is best for June, and then from there, into the Summer. Lebanon, Almaty, Kazakhstan, or Nepal (rainy?) on AA or Northwestern India on AIA I also have the option of entering Turkmenistan, or Armenia by road after Iran (I think June could be a good time in either place), but Turkmenistan doesn't seem to have any Couchsurfers, which is how I travel. No hotels, ever. Let me know your thoughts about June. moreResolved Question: Where can i find cheap discount Walt Disney World vacation packages online?

So the other night I got a hotel room, my intentions was that me and my friend were going to stay there after a night of drinking so we didn't have to drive home. The thing is, I work another hotel across town so I used my employee discount...I ended up bringing people back there with me, a lot of alcohol was involved, we got super loud and god only knows how trashed the room must have been....and i think there may be ciggarette ashes and evidence of that when the hotel is clearly non smoking... So do you think they will call my work and tell them what happened? I just don't know what to do or say...and I go back to work tommorow and I am soooo nervous... Please don't say thats all your fault and that was such a dumb thing to do because YEAH i know it is! but its too late now moreResolved Question: Solve this riddle " Bill 75 "?
three friends went to a hotel.the bill was Rs 75/- each one contributed Rs.25/-. the waiter took the bill to the cashier. the cashier was happy & decided to give them a discount of Rs.5/- & said the waiter to return them Rs.5/-. but he was confused how to distribute Rs 5 among 3 persons. he kept Rs 2 in his pocket & gave one rupee to each one of the 3 persons. so 1st each one contributed 25 Rs now as they are given 1 rupee back their contibution reduces to Rs 24. they all contributed rs 24 that is 24x3=72 & 2 rupees are in the waiters pocket. the total becomes 74 but they paid rs 75. where is the remaining 1 rupee?. moreResolved Question: Is lockheed martin part of the us department of energy?

So is he lying or should people working for "secret" GVMT departments just no bother trying to get a discount? Thanks everyone!! I was pretty sure it was BS but I don't know much about DOE or Lockheed so I wanted to check.
